Part-Time Janitorial Aide

The Butts County Senior Center is seeking a part-time Janitorial Aide. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment at the Senior Center to protect the safety and health of others.

We are looking for a dependable, energetic person with customer service skills, who works with a minimum of supervision and exercises excellent independent judgment; speaks effectively and is attentive to detail.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• assists in maintaining cleanliness of public buildings, structures, and facilities
• Verifies security of buildings and grounds
• Monitors alarm system and locks doors
• Sweeps and mops floors
• Vacuums carpeting and upholstered chairs
• Empties wastebaskets and disposes of waste
• Cleans break rooms, tables, and counters
• Cleans glass windows and doors
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms
• Dusts offices, tables, benches, paneling, baseboards, and blinds
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors
• Maintains equipment and tools
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions and instructions
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Basic knowledge of institutional custodial/janitorial safety, sanitation practices preferred
