A workshop was held at 5:30 PM to discuss the following items.

76. Engineer’s Contract (DW Smith/Keck and Wood) Mr. Kip Washington

77. Purchase of Public Defender’s Building Mr. Michael Brewer

78. EMS Debt Collection Agency Mr. Wesley Johnston

79. Discussion on Personal Property Business Licensing Mr. Brad Vaughan

80. Roof Replacement Bid for Historic Hotel Mr. Stewart Cawthon

81. Appointment to the West Georgia EMS Council Mr. Michael Brewer

Regular Meeting 6:00 PM
Mr. Douglas called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. All Members were in attendance.

Item 2023-05-084 Adoption of the Docket
Mr. Brown moved to approve the docket, seconded by Mr. Rivers and approved with unanimous consent and adding workshop items 76, 77, 78, 80 and 81 to the Consent Agenda.

Item 2023-05-085 Approval of Minutes
Mr. Henderson moved to approve, seconded by Mr. Crumbley with unanimous consent.

New Business
Item 2023-05-086 Consent Agenda
Mr. Rivers moved to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Mr. Henderson with unanimous consent.

Item 2023-05-087 Finance Officer’s Report
Ms. Blissit presented the financial report. She stated that with 83% of the budget year complete, the County had received 102% of anticipated revenues for the year and had expended 81%, noting that we were under budget and over on collections.

Item 2023-05-088 Deputy County Manager’s Report
Mr. Brewer presented the monthly operations report comparing April 2023 numbers to April 2022 numbers and showing growth in 911 calls, ambulance calls and building permits in particular.

Item 2023-05-089 County Manager’s Report
Mr. Johnson updated the Board on various County projects and that work was steadily progressing on the budget process as the County awaited the information on property tax appeals and digest info.

Item 2023-05-090 Executive Session for Legal Purposes
Mr. Crumbley moved to enter Executive Session for Legal, seconded by Mr. Brown with unanimous consent. Later the board reconvened and Mr. Welch reported that an update on litigation were discussed. Mr. Brown moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Rivers with unanimous consent.
