CALL FOR NOVEMBER 4, 2025, MUNICIPAL GENERAL / SPECIAL PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION GENERAL / SPECIAL COUNTY REFERENDUM ELECTION
To be published in a newspaper of appropriate circulation pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-2(3).
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540, the following elections will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Butts County, Georgia:
- Municipal General Election
Elections for municipal offices will be conducted at the regular polling places in all municipalities within Butts County. - Special Election – Public Service Commission Districts 2 & 3
A Special Election will be held for Public Service Commissioner Districts 2 and 3. - Special Referendum – FLOST
Qualified voters of Butts County shall determine the question of whether a 1% County Special Floating Local Option Sales and Use Tax (FLOST) shall be imposed on all sales and uses in Butts County for a period not to exceed 20 calendar quarters, for the purpose of raising approximately $220,000,000 to be used exclusively for the reduction of property taxes. - Special Referendum – Homestead Exemption
Qualified voters of Butts County shall determine the question of whether an Act shall be approved which increases the homestead exemption from Butts County ad valorem taxes for certain residents of the county who are 62 years of age or older, raising the exemption from $4,000 of the assessed value of the homestead to $20,000 of the assessed value of the homestead.
Advance Voting
Advance in-person voting for the November 4, 2025 Election will be held at the following times and locations:
- October 14 – 18, 2025: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- October 20 – 25, 2025: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- October 27 – 31, 2025: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Election Day Voting
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All municipal voters will receive their municipal ballot along with their county ballot at their assigned county polling place.
Voter Registration Deadline
The last day to register to vote in this election is October 6, 2025. Voters may check their registration status or view sample ballots online at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Absentee Ballots
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is October 24, 2025. For more information or to request an absentee ballot, please contact the Butts County Elections Department at 770-775-8202. Absentee drop box will be available during the advanced voting period, located at 625 W Third St., front lobby, Jackson, GA 30233
