Beginning July 21, 2025, appraisers from Georgia Mass Appraisal Solutions, Inc. (GMASS) will begin conducting a countywide reappraisal of all residential, agricultural, and vacant land properties in Butts County. This project, contracted by the Butts County Board of Commissioners, will establish updated fair market values as of January 1, 2026, which will be reflected in the 2026 Annual Notice of Assessment mailed to property owners in April or May of next year.

During the project, there will be 5 to 10 GMASS appraisers in the field, reviewing roughly 13,000 parcels across the county. Each appraiser will be driving a clearly marked vehicle with the GMASS logo and a placard that reads “County Appraiser/GMASS,” and they will also be wearing a GMASS-issued ID badge. While on-site, appraisers will measure any structures and take photographs of most buildings on the property. Please note, they will not be entering any homes or other buildings, and when possible, they’ll knock on the door to notify you of their presence.

If you have any questions, please contact the Butts County Tax Assessor’s Office at 770-775-8207.
