Honorable Judge Brantley Throws out Rock Quarry

Jackson, Georgia — November 20, 2023 — This morning, the court case between TUSSAHAW RESERVES, LLC; KEYS FERRY CROSSING, LLC; and the BUTTS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS was heard in the Butts County Superior Court. The Honorable Grant Brantley officiated and ruled to dismiss the rezoning case, which our attorneys believe will end the case. This case, if successful would have brought a Quarry to the Keys Ferry Road area of Butts County.

This has been a heated case since the Board of Commissioners denied rezoning back in February of 2021. Since then, there have been several hearings leading up to today’s decision. The Board of Commissioners stand firm in their decision and stand in unison to allow the right grow in the right locations within our county.

The Board of Commissioners feel assured that there will be an appeal; however, the community has sent a clear message that they are against the quarry, and the Board of Commissioners will continue to fight for their community.
