Minutes of the Board of Commissioners for 24 June, 2021

Chairman Joe Brown called the Special Called Meeting to order at 9:15 AM following the final public hearing on the proposed millage rate, which had adjourned earlier. Following the opening of the meeting, the following items of business were transacted by the Board of Commissioners:

Item 2021-06-121 Resolution CR202116 Adopting the FY2022 County Budget

Deputy County Manager Michael Brewer read Resolution CR202116 to Adopt the Fiscal Year 2022 County Budget, including provisions for Insurance Premium Tax and Special Funds and requested the Board’s favorable consideration to adopt the Resolution.

A motion to adopt the Resolution was made by Mr. Rivers.
A second was offered by Mr. Henderson
A vote to adopt the FY2022 budget was recorded with Mr. Brown and Crumbley joining in favor of the resolution and no one in dissent. The FY2022 budget is adopted with an effective date of July 1st, 2021 and the Resolution shall be made a part of the Book of Resolutions, Volume 1.

Item 2021-06-122 Resolution CR202117 Setting the 2021 County M&O Millage Rate

Mr. Brewer read Resolution CR202117 to set the 2021 County M & O Millage rate at 12.959 mils, after which the following occurred:

A motion to approve the Resolution was made by Mr. Henderson.
A second was offered by Mr. Rivers.
A vote to approve the Resolution and set the 2021 County M & O Millage Rate was recorded, with Mr. Brown and Crumbley joining in favor of the Resolution and no one in dissent. The 2021 County millage is adopted with an effective date of July 1st, 2021 and the Resolution shall be made a part of the Book of Resolutions, Volume 1.

Item 2021-06-123 Resolution CR202118 Imposing Ad Valorem for 2021

Mr. Brewer read Resolution CR202118 to set the total millage rate at 29.047 mils to include County, School District and Hospital, after which the following occurred:

A motion to approve the Resolution was made by Mr. Henderson.
A second was offered by Mr. Rivers.
A vote to approve the Resolution and set the 2021 Total Ad Valorem Millage Rate at 29.047 mils was recorded, with Mr. Brown and Crumbley joining in favor of the Resolution and no one in dissent. The 2021 total millage is adopted with an effective date of July 1st, 2021 and the Resolution shall be made a part of the Book of Resolutions, Volume 1.

Chairman Brown took a moment of personal privilege and thanked the Administration, the Tax Commissioner and the Assessor’s Office for all their hard work on the annual budget process and then called for a motion to adjourn the called meeting.

Item 2021-06-124 Adjournment Motion.
Mr. Crumbley moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Henderson with unanimous consent. The meeting was adjourned.
