Sealed bids will be received by Butts County at County Administration Building, 625 West Third Street, Jackson, Georgia, 30233, ATTN: County Clerk, until Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. local time. Late bids will not be considered and will not be returned. Bid Packages will be available at the above address for a charge of $100 and must be picked up. Bid packages will not be emailed.

For the project known as:
Riley Road Improvements – 2019

The OWNER of the project is Butts County. The ENGINEER for the project is Wayne Smith, PE of DWSmith Design Group, Inc.

Project Scope: The work to be bid consists of furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and services required to complete grading on 1.6 miles of Riley Road from Higgins Road to end of project. A Bid Alternate would also provide for placement and compaction of County furnished Graded Aggregate Base (GAB) prior to surface treatment by others.

All work is subject to Georgia Department of Transportation standards and specifications.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a surety issued bond or cashiers check made payable to Butts County Board of Commissioners. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Butts County as liquidated damages if the bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract.

Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia.

Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER and ATTN: County Clerk. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, “Riley Road Improvements”. If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of the OWNER/County Clerk at the address previously given.

Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the time and date set for closing, except as allowed by OCGA. Butts County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any technicalities.
