Air Conditioning Unit with Duct Work Installation at Gymnastics Gym
Butts County Board of Commissioners

The Butts County Board of Commissioners will receive sealed bid proposals for the installation of a 30 Ton Carrier 48TCDD30 208/230-3-60 Package (Or comparable) Air Conditioning Unit with Duct Work Installation at Gymnastics located at 576 Ernest Biles Drive, Jackson, Georgia 30233. The installation proposal will be done in strict compliance with the schedule “A” found in the bid package attached hereto. Bids will be received by the Butts County Board of Commissioners Office, 625 W. Third Street, Jackson, Georgia 30233. All bids submitted shall be clearly marked: Department of Leisure Services Gymnastics Gym Air Conditioning System, and delivered to Mr. Michael Brewer, Clerk of Butts County, Butts County Board of Commissioners Office, 625 W. Third Street, Jackson, Georgia 30233 on or before 11AM Eastern Standard Time, Friday, May 11, 2018. All sealed bids will be publicly opened on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:15 AM at 625 W. Third Street, Jackson, Georgia 30233 and announced. No faxed bids will be received or accepted.

All material and labor bids should be as per schedule “A”. Complete bid packages are available at the Butts County Board of Commissioners Office, 625 W. Third Street, Jackson, Georgia 30233 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or via website at www.buttscountyga.com

Each contractor must agree that all work will be performed without unreasonable delay and without suspension of work unless authorized in writing by the Butts County Facilities Maintenance Director or his designee, and shall be completed within 1 month. If there are unreasonable delays or unauthorized suspension of work, Butts County reserves the right to charge the contractor, not a penalty, but in liquidated damages, the cost to the county as may be determined by the Butts County Board of Commissioners. The Requirements of the O.C.G.A. Code Sections 50-24-6 relating to the Drug Free Workplace Act will apply to this project and must be complied with in all respects. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish to the Butts County Board of Commissioners a certificate of insurance showing workers compensation, personal injury and property damage in an amount deemed acceptable by the Butts County Board of Commissioners and proof of all applicable licenses in the state of Georgia.

In addition, performance and payment bonding in the amount of 100% of the contract will be required and must be written on the outside of the envelope. There will be a 5% retainer until project completion. Bid bonds in the amount of 5% are required with all sealed bids in order to be considered at the time of the bid opening. All bid bonds or proposal guarantees, except that of the lowest, most responsive bidder, will be returned immediately following the award of the contract. The firms bidding shall provide an E-Verify, SAVE affidavit and a W-9 which may be obtained from the Financial Office. Failure to provide E-Verify documentation could make bid subject to rejection. O.C.G.A. & 13-10-990 GA Sect. & Immigration Compliance Act of 2006 shall also apply.
Butts County reserves the right to reject or negotiate any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive any technicalities. Butts County further reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest reliable, responsible, bidder as determined to be in the best interest of Butts County.

A pre-bid construction meeting will be held on the premises at 576 Ernest Biles Drive, Jackson, Georgia 30233 at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 27th, 2018. Attendance is strongly encouraged and may be a factor in selecting a final bid.

Schedule “A”

The following will be used to provide the scope and detail of work to be performed in the installation of a 30 Ton Carrier 48TCDD30 208/230-3-60 Package Air Conditioning Unit (or comparable) with Duct Work at the Department of Leisure Services.
” Form, pour and finish concrete pad for new air-conditioning unit to sit upon
” Provide new unit and all curbs required for duct connections and ductwork
” Install TDF lock exterior square duct for supply and return with 1 inch acoustical liner
” Install appropriate electrical wiring and disconnects
” Provide crane for sending unit in place
” Provide lift for installing ductwork
” Provide all labor for install of new air-conditioning unit and ductwork
” Clean up job site when work is complete
” Installation must meet pertinent local and state codes
” One lot single wall spiral duct over gym floor with high velocity supply grills
” Touch screen programmable controller
” Duct smoke detector with system shut down connected to current fire system
” RTU economizer
” Gas line connector from existing gas lines to be included
” Paint interior and exterior ductwork
” Install 6 foot chain-link fence with service gate and blinds around unit to match existing
” Remove existing ventilators and seal openings
