The Jackson/Butts County Public Library is looking for a full-time Library Assistant Manager to work at the Jackson Public Library including but not limited to some mornings, afternoons, evenings, plus a Saturday rotation.

We are looking for a dependable, energetic person with well-developed customer service skills, who works with a minimum of supervision and exercises excellent independent judgment; speaks effectively and is attentive to detail.

Duties include but are not limited to: Coordinating day-to-day library operations; opening and closing the facility; monitoring customer services. Responding to customer inquiries and requests for information and assistance. Instructing patrons regarding library policies and procedures, available materials, resources and community events. Monitoring shelving rotation and ensures properly maintained collections. Issuing library cards, checking materials in and out, collects and records fines and fees, sorts and shelves library materials, data collection and entry, preparing reports and information, and handling questions and complaints. Assists customers in learning how to use the library’s search tools i.e. computers, PINES and GALILEO. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

Begins at $11.78 per hour and is dependent upon education, experience and funding.

Minimum Training and Experience: Must have graduated from high school and be familiar with computers.
