Conditions in Butts County have remained stable throughout most of the day but ice accumulation is continuing to build on trees and power lines. Roadways have not become severely hazardous yet but are beginning to transition to frozen in places. According to state weather sources, more freezing rain, followed by snow is expected this evening.

Per Chairman Roger McDaniel, all County offices will remain closed tomorrow due to concerns about roads, trees and power lines. Essential services will continue as normal. Updates will continue to be posted on social media and websites. Thank you for your understanding during this time and for remaining safely at home so that our emergency workers can continue to keep the roads clear and safe.
