RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO HONOR THE SERVICE OF D. RICHARD BALLARD
Sponsored by Mr. Henderson of the Second Commission District of Butts County
WHEREAS: D. Richard Ballard served for many years as Coroner of Butts County, having been elected by the Citizens of Butts County, and;
WHEREAS: Butts County, for many years, had no official Coroner’s Office or facilities of any kind to house the business affairs of the Office of County Coroner, and;
WHEREAS: Richard Ballard, as the owner for many years of Haisten Funeral Home, willingly offered the use of his place of business and business vehicles to conduct the affairs of the Coroner’s Office as a service to the Citizens of Butts County, and;
WHEREAS: Through the donation of such space and facilities, Mr. Ballard saved the Citizens of Butts County untold thousands of dollars, far in excess of any remuneration he may have received during his tenure as County Coroner, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED: That we, the Butts County Board of Commissioners, give recognition to the service of D. Richard Ballard to the Citizens of Butts County and ask that they honor him for his dedication and his call to serve others, given this 11th day of April, Two Thousand, Eleven.
