“LOCAL FAMILY ENDURES FIRE TRAGEDY; CITY SETS UP FUND TO HELP”

Losing everything we own because of a fire is sad, but losing loved ones, most especially children, is a tragedy that leaves us with no words to describe the anguish. Alicia Crowder and her family endured just such a tragedy on Friday, December 15, 2017, when their residence on Valley Road in Jackson, caught fire and burned.

“No one can change what has already happened, but we can help this family make a new tomorrow,” said Jackson Mayor Kay Pippin. “We have received several requests from the community wanting to know how they can help, therefore we have established the ‘Alicia Crowder Fund’ at Hamilton State Bank in Jackson. The fund will remain open until June 1, 2018, and all monies collected will be given via legal custodians to the family.”

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the family should visit Hamilton State Bank and note their deposits are for the “Alicia Crowder Fund.”

Our city continues to pray that God will comfort this family during this difficult time and may the outpouring of care and friendship from a generous community help them through the days ahead.
