The Community Development Department handles a broad range of responsibilities associated with providing a well planned, quality county. They are the county’s lead agency on project management from residential to commercial to industrial and everything in between. They also provide these services for the cities of Jackson, Flovilla and Jenkinsburg.
Butts County welcomes industry and businesses. We work in concert with our Industrial Development Authority, who markets available property, meets with prospective companies and brings the key players to the table when a prospect is interested in becoming a partner with us. We also work with our Chamber of Commerce who performs a similar function with local businesses and commercial interests. Other partner agencies include the city governments, the Butts County Water Authority and Three Rivers Regional Commission to name a few.
