MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING FOR JANUARY 9, 2017 AS APPROVED FEBRUARY 13, 2017 Present: Ken Rivers, District 1 Robert Henderson, District 2 Joe Brown, District 3 Keith Douglas, District 4 Russ Crumbley, District 5 Staff: Keith Moffett, County Administrator Chiquita Barkley, Controller Michael Brewer, Government Relations Director Michael O’Quinn, County Attorney MINUTES Chairman Douglas called the meeting to order and welcomed all present. He then asked Commissioner Ken Rivers to give the invocation, followed by the pledge of allegiance. Item 2017-01-001: Approval of Docket Commissioner Rivers asked for an information item to be added to the docket regarding work on auxiliary buildings at the Recreation Department. Commissioner Henderson asked for the addition of an Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter. Mr. Brewer asked to add annexation requests from the City of Jenkinsburg to the docket. Upon a motion by Commissioner Crumbley, seconded by Commissioner Henderson, the docket was approved with unanimous consent and the docket numbers were adjusted accordingly. Item 2017-01-002: Election of Chairman for 2017 Upon a motion by Commissioner Rivers, seconded by Commissioner Brown, the Board elected Robert Henderson as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners with unanimous consent. Emergency Notice: Boil Water Advisory for Flovilla

💧BOIL WATER ADVISORY has been issued for Flovilla residents due to a water main break and loss of pressure. Please see the statement below issued by the City of Flovilla Due to a water main break in the City of Flovilla, water pressure in parts of the water system dropped to dangerously low levels. When this occurs a potential health hazard may exist in these areas of zero pressure from backflow and/or back-siphonage of water of unknown quality into the water distribution system. In order to protect the public from a potential health hazard, all citizens that have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures are advised to “boil” all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by their drinking water utility that the water system has been restored to full operation, and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.
