Rhonda Blissit has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer for Butts County, effective March 5, 2018. Holding licensure as a Certified Public Accountant, she is a graduate of Clayton State University, where she earned a BBA in Accounting. Her prior work includes serving as CFO for the Jasper County Board of Commissioners; Tax Manager at Mauldin & Jenkins LLC; Personal Property Tax Supervisor with the Henry County Tax Assessor’s Office and related work as a CPA in various firms.
She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. A resident of Butts County, she is the first CPA to hold the position of Chief Financial Officer for the County.
“We are very pleased to welcome Rhonda Blissit to Butts County and we’re looking forward to all that she can bring to the table as we enter the annual budget season” said Government Relations Director Michael Brewer. “Having an experienced CPA on staff definitely gives our county an advantage in sound financial management and good stewardship over the taxpayer’s funds and our entire staff is looking forward to working with her”.
Blissit will begin work on Monday, March 5th.
